Empowering the Next Generation of Women According to Susan McGalla

Susan P. McGalla is the founder of the P3 Executive Consulting LLC group that specializes in consulting clients on the various aspects of branding, marketing, and talent management to ensure businesses run efficiently as possible. McGalla is also the founder of the Women’s & Girls Foundation at and works Carnegie Mellon University through their Speaker Series for CEO(s). The aims of both of these initiatives are to start movements that empower women to get involved in business and to make their mark on how business in done in modern-day America.


Susan McGalla states that most women she speaks to just simply want her to be an authentic role model who is real to herself and who offers useful advice to be able to help other women progress in their careers. To McGalla these requests are very empowering and she is honored to fulfill the calling for someone to stand up and mentor young women who want to be empowered.


McGalla sites her upbringing with two brothers and a football coach of a father as to why she is so motivated to succeed and do well. She claims that growing up her father never cut her slack for “being a girl”, and believes that other parents should raise their young girls the same way. Parents should inspire girls to grow up empowered to do anything they put their minds to.


McGalla “cut her chops” in business by holding various positions at American Eagle Outfitters between the years of 2000 and 2010. Eventually, McGalla worked her way up to being the President and Chief Merchandising Officer with American Eagle Outfitters Inc., which had her overseeing a total of $3 billion in annual sales, four inclusive brands, and an e-commerce site.


McGalla is also Vice President for Business Content & Strategy for the National Football League team the Pittsburgh Steelers.
